Todd Bratrud is a name that should ring bells to any Nike SB collector worth a salt lick, being the brains behind a handful of the more sought after collabo Dunks in recent memory.

When you consider the number of themes they’ve utilized over the years including plenty of Star Wars-inspired designs, it’s crazy to think that Nike SB hasn’t done any real military themes.  Legendary pop artist Frank Kozik changes that with his collaboration on this Kozik x Nike SB Dunk High , a design whose almost entirely olive green upper belies the complexity of details ranging from the materials chosen to the sockliner and insole markings.

Like many Air Jordans are, Nike SB Dunks are often distinguished by quick-and-easy nickname derived from the official color coding of the shoe. So when a familiar colorway repeats itself, the moniker usually follows, like last year’s ‘Iron’ Low , which was compared to the original Iron High of 2005. But in the case of this May 2012 release of the SB Dunk Mid , the ‘Iron’ colorway makes another appearance, but not like one would expect; it’s got a completely different color-blocking as it uses the classic two-toned arrangement pairing Iron with Black, so it’s more of a “Re-Iron” rather than an “Un-Iron”.

Have you ever riden a  skateboard in all-white sneakers ? When it comes to skate sneakers especially, they’ve been few and far between because anyone who’s worn something like the new  Nike SB Dunk High Pro  pictured above anywhere near griptape and asphalt could tell you that the way they look when you start isn’t quite how they’ll end up

Eric Koston  proved upon the very launch of his first Nike SB signature sneaker that it could blend seamlessly with cutting edge basketball designs, and being the devoted sneakerhead that he is, Koston simply couldn’t stop there.  For his latest project, Swoosh skateboarding’s mad scientist reached back into the vaults for a model that debuted a few years before he turned pro, which feels like a lifetime given how many of our readers weren’t even born then.  The  Nike SB Koston 1 x Air Max 90  offers a re-written trip back through history as we see the beloved ‘Infrared’ motif redone with added emphasis on suede for skating purposes.

Another solid week of WDYWT submissions from our loyal readers and Sneaker News Blogs: WDYWT regulars, so let’s take a look at the twenty best of the past week! Some great collaborations were spotted, like the CLOT x Nike Air Force 1 and two different Huf SF joints, and a  pair of Under Armour All-Star PEs deserved some attention (just to add a little variation). Two readers chose to rock their ’99 Bred IVs, while we got a look at an upcoming Air Jordan IV that has ties to the original Black/Red Air Jordan IV (ahem, Ehlo)

Is Nike SB on their way to reclaiming their former glory? Their collaborative releases are turning heads again and in their in-line styles like the new Nike SB Dunk Low shown here have been just as on point. You’ll recall that this pair first popped up at the tail end of last year, a time when we were knee deep in Dunks featuring a similarly textured upper

Stefan Janoski will soon see the SB branding removed from his signature line as it follows the P-Rod series and a few other select sigs to wider distribution, a still-processing shift that echoes the tumult currently playing out about an hour east of Stef’s NorCal hometown.  This new Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski will naturally be associated with the Sacramento Kings given their unique black and Vintage Purple combo , but unlike the arena deal that was supposed to be a given at this point, we know for sure that progress is being made on these with an ETA to be realized in the near future.

Frank Kozik is one of those names that if you’re familiar with pop art and/or toy collecting needs no introduction, and if you end up following either of those interests, he’ll be among the first names you commit to memory.  Kozik’s stylings have taken him from owning an indie record label and producing artwork for some of the 1990′s most important alternative rock groups, to more recent pursuits like designing toys for KidRobot including his signature Labbit figure .  Kozik’s Nike Dunk High Premium Quickstrike reveals a similar level to attention, its flight theme realized with a luxurious tumbled leather overlay that makes the all-nylon designs slightly less impressive

Nike SB wished its fans Feliz Navidad when images of a new  Corona-colored Stefan Janoski signature  surfaced last December, but might there be two contrast-piped white  Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski  releases for May 2012?
