Never content to just slap some paint on a sneaker and call it a custom, Sharp020 has proven his acumen again and again via a slick skill set of embroidery and sew-work . Take his latest creation, this minty fresh pair with a cool sunburst array of lines radiating out from the side swoosh. The inside gets quite the upgrade as well, featuring a soft quilted look that is generally reserved for top-tier Supreme collabos.

The  Nike SB Dunk Mid  is set to reintroduce its once-defining ankle strap in the second half of this year, but before we revisit the original midtop silhouette, how about a journey back in time to a (couple of) colorway(s) that made its mark just a (couple of) year(s) before the Mid debuted. This Dunk Mid Pro SB in black, Medium Mint and Sea Crystal not only brings back the signature teal shade from a 2004 High that’s going for around 4x its box price these days, but also evokes memories of  the immortal ‘Tiffany’ colorup  from Diamond Supply Co.

The latest  Nike SB Dunk Low Premium  release is at first glance a fairly ‘standard’ colorway, both in the sense that it’s far from Swoosh skateboarding’s craziest potentiality, and that they’re built using a variety of familiar design cues from the past.  It starts off with the classic ‘Be True to Your School’ colorblocking pattern debuted on the ‘Original 7′ from 1985, and even includes the white midsole that’s become nearly omnipresent on Dunk releases since

There’ve been a few standout  Nike SB Dunk Lows  previewed here on Sneaker News in recent weeks, and one thing they all have in common is a connection to a previous notable release. The connection is quite obvious when you look at Pushead’s latest Dunk SB collaboration and the upcoming ‘Shrimp’ edition offers a different twist on crustacean inspiration than CNCPTS’ ‘Lobster’ series just as the above pictured pair utilizes the still rare yet  familiar woodgrain texture . They offer a strikingly similar blocking pattern as compared to last February’s Obsidian edition, but achieve a more festive look that’s not too far from what you might expect in a few months for Cinco de Mayo

The Dunk Pro SB is celebrating its 10th anniversary and Nike SB will soon unveil its take on the Air Jordan 1, but don’t forget about the other classic basketball silhouette that has been foundational for Swoosh skateboarding over the past several years. The Nike SB Blazer High was conspicuous by its absence in January’s footwear collection, but two upcoming colorways ensure that this revised take on the 1973 classic will garner its fair share of attention in the coming months.

Did any of you catch David Diehl’s Air Jordan IV PEs that were on-field during the NFC Championship game? Those would’ve definitely cracked any Top 20 WDYWT list, but unfortunately for David, he didn’t submit them into Sneaker News Blogs: WDYWT ! This week’s twenty best is still solid from front to back, with sightings of the UNDFTD x Air Jordan IV, an OG pair of the Air Jordan X Powder Blue, plenty of Nike SBs, and one OG Nike Basketball shoe that allowed you to customize your kicks via a removable mid-foot strap.

Aside from the Zoom Kobe VI hybrid that released around the debut of the  Nike SB Zoom Koston 1  last summer, you’re looking at a model with simple colorways built right in.  Eric Koston’s first Nike SB signature is mostly comprised of a single piece of suede, so the upper tends to be forced toward classically styled looks like the appropriately named Vintage Green pair pictured above.  Metallic Silver accents along with a white midsole give these a crisp look that’ll serve you well as we approach spring, then you can toss them into the closet until later in the year when a red lace will make these into one of the more satisfying Christmas-y skate looks in recent memory.

Just yesterday Sneaker News gave you the heads up of a second collaboration between the Nike SB Dunk Low and artist Pushead . Reaching notoriety with his artwork in album covers and skate decks, Pushead brought his signature work to the SB Dunk in late 2005 . Dropping in 2012 is a redux of sorts – a ‘bleached’ version of the original with new shoelaces featured the signature printwork but without the quilted lining, as noted yesterday

2012 marks the 10th Anniversary of Nike Skateboarding as a recognized label within the Swoosh, and comparing the original series of Dunk Lows and Highs to the numerous pro models surrounding the Dunk classic proves that Nike SB has skated through quite a journey. At the Bright Trade Show in Berlin, Nike Skateboarding presented its Winter 2012 collection in three separate installments, placing an emphasis on the infusion of Lunar technology in skate shoes as well as the new upcoming models like the Nike P-Rod VI and the Nike SB Challenge Court as well as its established originals like the Dunk. As usual, Nike pulled out all the stops in creating a platform for its products, using a science laboratory as the unifying theme.
