When you first take a look at this new Nike SB Dunk Low do any particular colorways from the SB heritage come to mind? The community seems a bit split on that, with some calling to the similar blocking to the ‘J-Pack’ Dunks of old and others seeing more in common with the ‘Tiffany’ strictly in terms of colors used. Either way, one thing that we should be able to come to a consensus on is that they are quite the summer sneaker, a potent pair thanks to the simple two-tone look on top that relies on an accenting shade from the Nike SB range that is just starting to make moves

Even though its parent company got started with the brand that’s the global leader in athletic footwear and gear, Converse is still considered the American heritage sneaker brand.  Their absorption into Nike, Inc. has improved not only the once-struggling One Star’s bottom line, but also sent them in the direction of collaborations and other modern marketing strategies

The ‘Summit Lake Hornets’ series on the Nike LeBron 9 is one of those motifs that just has to be a leftover from Nike Basketball’s plan B in the event of the horrible ‘What If’ scenario of the NBA season being totally evaporated, with the Swoosh storytellers switching the focus to aim on LeBron’s past with his present being stalled. Fortunately that wasn’t the case, and luckily we still get those releases, this Nike LeBron 9 Low being the latest of them

Their Nizza is adidas Originals’ classic basketball silhouette most likely to be compared to the Nike Blazer, but did you know adi Dassler’s footwear brand actually beat the Swoosh’s first b-ball sneaker to market by nearly four years?  1969′s adidas Originals Basket Profi beat the Blazer out of the gates by a hefty margin, and these four new suede designs attempt to gain back some of that attention

Dubai in and of itself is sort of a hybrid city, caught between embracing a massive wave of development and maintaining its cultural heritage as a capital of the Arab world. Touching on that status is this crazy custom design from Nash dubbed the ‘Bedouin’ and produced for the recent Sole DXB sneaker show, which blends the luxurious upper of the Visvim FBT with the retro tech of the New Balance 1500 sole kit on bottom.

To this point in history, the only signature line that’s endured beyond an NBA superstar’s active playing career is the Air Jordan Legacy, which has survived three different Michael Jordan retirements to remain the most popular series of all-time.  The second one of those rare tribute sigs is coming up later this year thanks to the massive success of the Nike Air Penny retros and their resulting hybrids.  The Nike Air Penny 5 gets back to the sweeping lines and jeweled heel cushions that typified models 1-III, eschewing the IV’s ankle strap for a more familiar look that reminds us of Penny’s dominant days with the Orlando Magic .
