Given that the word ‘Aztec’ itself is something of a loose identifier used to describe a variety of 14th-16th century Mexican ethnic groups, it seems fitting that the Nike Sportswear collection inspired by their signature aesthetics seems to be growing organically and without a concrete limit. The latest addition to NSW’s  Aztec Pack  is this new  Nike Dunk Low  that offers a slightly different take on the same Ironstone, Grain and Imperial Blue palette we just saw on an Air Max 1 release. The key difference, silouhette aside, is the use of a blue Swoosh on these instead of beige on the AM1s, a shift that has these feeling a bit more vibrant than the comparatively earthy ’87.

Beefed up Lava Dunk hybrid release notwithstanding, it’s been nearly a year and a half since we’ve seen a new Nike Dunk drop featuring  ripstop nylon on the upper .  Perhaps Nike Sportswear was looking to make up for the absence, as this new  Nike Dunk Low  is completely covered in the stuff, a suede quarter panel the only thing stopping this entire shoe from having a gridded texture.  Click through to see some closeups of this entirely red Dunk Low and stick with Sneaker News for updates on this incredibly intense design.

Ever since the passing of the ‘King Of Pop’ , prices of Michael Jackson memorabilia have skyrocketed, leaving the lucky owners with the tough decision to sell or hold. We’ve seen a ton of MJ goodies pop up for auction and at sneaker conventions (like at the 2011 Cincy Sneaker Showcase ), but have you ever seen these Michael Jackson Nike Dunk Lows?

Nike iD will have undergone a thorough overhauling with their material swatches and color palette by the end of the Fall 2011 season, and thankfully the Nike Dunk won’t excluded in this rejuvenation. Here’s a look at some completed Nike iD samples of the Nike Dunk Low and High Premium; available this July 19th is the use of denim twill and corduroy as well as the classic flat leather and suede, with the combination of choice being solely up to the iD-er.

On Wednesday, Sneaker News showed you a preview of an upcoming Nike Dunk High that featured a Velvet Brown canvas upper with Team Red leather on the toe.  That’s the exact same mix of colors that appears on this new Dunk Low from Nike Sportswear , but the material blocking is somewhat inverted.  The brown canvas now stretches from toebox to tongue and down through the side panels, the rear quarter, heel and Swoosh now done in leather.  The outsole on these is also brown compared to the Highs’ red; so which one was done better?  Click through for more shots of this upcoming Dunk Low and stick with Sneaker News for the US release date.  via SP Read the rest of Nike Dunk Low – Velvet Brown – Team Red © Sneaker News , 2011. | Permalink | No comment | Add to del.icio.us

The Nike Dunk is known for its original two-toned palettes, their signature blocking pattern instantly bringing to mind the imperative ‘Be True to Your School’.  So for their latest release, Nike Sportswear has managed to deviate from the OG formula but still come up with a distinctly classic feel on these two new high-contrast Nike Dunk Low releases.  Two new Dunk Lows each feature black leather bases with white Swooshes to match their midsoles, the overlay sections cast in an accent shade and gaining some extra depth via all-over microperforations.  Click through to see more of the Sport Red and Drenched Blue editions and stick with Sneaker News for word on the US release date.  via mita sneakers Nike Dunk Low ’08 Anthracite/White-Drenched Blue 318019-008 Black/White-Sport Red 318019-009 Read the rest of Nike Dunk Low – Micro-Perf Pack Read the rest of Nike Dunk Low – Micro-Perf Pack © Sneaker News , 2011.

Nike 6.0 has long been considered the little brother of the Nike SB, but lately the action sports line has been getting more and more support in the form of dope colorways. The 6.0 Dunk LR takes the traditional Dunk upper and puts it on top of a vulcanized rubber sole, something more specifically geared toward action sports in place of the usual Dunk sole. This advanced look at the Spring 2012 line up shows some nice colorblocking in the form of a two toned approach.

It’s been nearly three months since Nike Sportswear issued the last ostrich leather Dunks as a part of the spring’s ‘Be True to Your Street’ collection.  Regular Sneaker News readers will remember that we previewed all of those drops in early March along with two other pairs that seemed to have disappeared.  But these pairs weren’t just discarded or written off as samples, but rather, released apart from the other three pairs as the Nike Dunk Low ‘Ostrich’ hits retailers around the world.  You can choose between Mineral Blue and Myth in the classic BTTYS colorblocking, both of which are currently available from Kix-Files . Ever since a couple of tablecloth-style Skinny Dunks hit retailers in mid-’09, Nike Sportswear has been taking more chances to add gingham checks to your favorite models.  We’ve seen everything from Air Force 1s to Air Footscape Wovens with the summery pattern, but the unquestioned leader in gingham’d designs is the Nike Dunk.  Check out these new Dunk Low CLs in a colorway that’d typically have you thinking of fall with its Halloweeny black/orange colorup.  But thanks to the hint of black and white checked material peeking out from the sockliner, these new Dunk Low CLs manage a timely feel.  Click through to see some more angles and look for these at select NSW retailers like RMKstore .
