In our recent look at the ‘Gorge Green’ Nike Blazer High VNTG release, we noted that the unfinished nylon tongue is now a tonal match to the suede uppers for the first time in the series’ three years. Regular Sneaker News readers will know that’s not the only bit of fresh news regarding nylon on the Vintage Blazer, as this new Electrolime edition makes three after our preview of red and blue pairs back at the start of the month.

Since its debut in early 2009, the  Nike Blazer High VNTG  has followed a simple recipe: start with slightly distressed suede to the upper, add Sail on the laces, unfinished tongue, heel tab, Swoosh and sole, then apply a slight yellowing to the last of those parts to achieve a pre-oxidized look.

The  Nike Blazer High Suede Vintage  has been released in Quickstrike form each of the last two autumns, this latest drop picking up a Low along with all the pieces that may have been left behind from making the earlier pairs.  Each piece of both pairs of these  VNTG Blazer Quickstrikes  can be seen to have originated on a previous release, this spring’s four-pack most prominently featured with three of its pairs represented across these two new drops.  Also notable in this melange of slightly beat-up suede is the presence of last fall’s Gold Dart and Spice colors spanning both pairs.

The Nike Blazer Vintage is one of those pillars of the Nike Sportswear catalog that you can count on pretty much every quarter since they debuted in early 2009. The formula to this point had been simple enough: combine a single-colored suede (or leather, in the case of just two pairs) upper with a leather Swoosh plus pre-yellowed laces and soles (all in Sail), apply the VNTG tag and you’re good to go. As we saw with the Legacy Red edition that went up for pre-orders last month, the Nike Blazer High Vintage has taken on a slightly different look for the holiday season. The nylon tongue remains relatively rough with its foam backing visible on the edges and loop, but they take on an entirely different character compared to the earlier VNTG Blazers thanks to the fact that they’re done in the same color as the suede uppers

There are plenty of pre-yellowed releases on the Nike Sportswear roster, but you could argue that none of their vintage releases capture the essence of their classification better than the Nike Blazer High VNTG . A throwback to the ’70s even without the oxidized sole and laces, the Blazer High Vintage is back with another red suede look, this time the deep Legacy Red shade that’s simultaneously a brick and nothing-but-net. These stand out against previous VNTG Blazer drops with their use of a tonal nylon on the ‘unfinished’ tongue , and are available now for pre-order in advance of the October release date at End

Back in 2009, Nike Sportswear released a House of Hoops-exclusive Blazer High LE featuring multicolored tie-dye on the side panels in honor of journeyman guard World B. Free.  Compared to even two years ago, we see significantly more player exclusive models hit retailers like the HoH, and the difference becomes more significant the further you track back until we’re talking about Sharpies as the extent of player specificity.  So while even the youngest sneakerheads could conceivably still associate the player with this shoe, to see an actual World B. Free Nike Blazer PE is pretty crazy.  These blue-on-white Blazers would have been a decent ‘home’ look for several of the teams he played on and are notable for their suede toecap, un-bellied Swoosh and ‘WORLD’ heel tabs.  Click through to see more angles of this game-worn classic and check out the auction from d_g.o.a.t on eBay .

We gave you a look at a couple pairs of the Nike Blazer High Premium TG a few months back, and we’re back with another look at this take on the classic Blazer. The last time we saw these they featured canvas heavily, but here the upper comes in a creamy tumbled leather, white washed to match the rest of the sneaker.

If there’s anything as ‘American’ as baseball and apple pie, it’s canvas hightop basketball sneakers.  This new pack of Nike Blazer High TGs manages to meld some of that classic Chuck Taylor vibe with a duo of New York Yankees colorways that’s perfectly timed with MLB spring training fully underway.  These pairs are nearly opposites of one another, one opting for navy blue accents on a grey base while the other mixes white and grey atop navy, each with contrasting toe sections.  Opening day might be more than a month away but you can play ball in these right now when you grab a pair from Size? or on eBay .
