When we mention sneakers who borrowed their midsole tooling from legendary Air Jordan silhouettes, the Nike Air Yeezy is probably the first to come to mind. And while Kanye’s first collaboration with the Swoosh was so successful that we’re awaiting the sequel, even a superstar record producer can’t move as many units as this throwback to the golden age of both hip-hop and sneaker design. The Nike Air Flight ’89 is back in 2012 after a little while on the shelf, this new black and grey getup the kind of simple yet effective colorway that’s truly timeless and could have just as easily been an OG as a fresh new look for spring.

Lil’ Wayne sure attends a lot of Heat games for someone who isn’t a Heat fan. The hip-hop artist made some headlines last season for making some comments regarding LeBron and Wade’s “refusal” to acknowledge Lil’ Wayne during a regular season game, who sat courtside.

The first superstar hip-hop beatmaker to see a sneaker collaboration release in 2012 won’t be Kanye West and his upcoming Nike Air Yeezy 2, and it won’t even be any of Swizz Beatz’ contributions to the RBK Classics capsule either.  Instead, this young year’s first guest production  comes from Just Blaze  on the  Supra Skytop II  he teased just last week.

Just last night Sneaker News broke the news of a possible Nike Air Yeezy 3 in its beginning stages, as Kanye West mysteriously tweeted his desire to ‘sketch’ the Nike Air Yeezy 3. While this news is rather exciting, we still don’t know much about the Nike Air Yeezy 2 , except that the tentative release date is currently set at March 23, 2012, and that the group of people who are known to have the Yeezy 2s in their possession is rather exclusive

Most of the sneaker world is anxiously awaiting the release of Kanye West’s second signature shoe with Nike , and while that’s not expected to happen until this spring, Mr. West just threw some interesting info our way via his Twitter . The most recent  Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke  spotlighted here on Sneaker News caught our eye for its use of what could be seen as a combination of the Nike Air Yeezy’s ‘Net’ and ‘Black/Pink’ colorways, but these latest showoffs are almost like the inverse.  Josh Snyder, instead of combining two signature looks from what could be the hottest lifestyle sneaker ever released, opted for two separate Bespokes, only one of which seems to draw directly from a well-known color combo.  That’s  the Lakers-looking one  of the two Josh recently crafted, their black snakeskin plus patent leather uppers as visually rich and eye-catching as some of the best Zoom Kobe colorways.

Behind this latest Bespoke creation is Shea White , who described the Bespoke experience perfectly by stating “…custom making a pair of sneakers with the materials and colors of your choosing is a dream…” and subsequently went ahead and created this jaw-dropping design. Using the Nike Air Yeezy ‘Net’ and the Hawaiian sunset as the inspiration, White infused tropical with the Yeezy perfectly, using the ‘Net’ colorway on the upper with safari print and a Total Orange heel-stripe on the rear for a unique two-part design concept. There’s no doubt he could’ve gone full Yeezy with his design by adding light-beige patent leather and making the outsole the light green instead of Vivid Pink, but Bespokes shine the brightest when done with a personal twist.

If you’re an executive of the label that helped make Kanye West the international hip-hop/urban culture/fashion icon he is today, expect some great gifts. Shawn ‘Pecas’ Costner , an executive of Def Jam, just showed off his Grey/Red pair of the Nike Air Yeezy 2 , given to him by Kanye West. Thus far, we haven’t seen the Air Yeezy 2 on the feet of anyone else, but Pecas’ fruitful relationship with Kanye deserves him so nice hook-ups! The upper of this new colorway features numerous tones of grey with a red inner lining and a mint green outsole – similar to that of the Black/Pink Air Yeezy 2 that we’ve seen quite a lot of.
