Dwyane Wade  earned his eighth NBA All-Star nod yesterday when the Miami Heat shooting guard was selected by fan vote to start in the 2012 ASG in Orlando.  Based on what we’ve seen from teammate LeBron James and his fellow Nike Basketball signature superstar Kobe Bryant, it’d be natural to expect Jordan Brand to break from the traditional All-Star color palette in favor of something more novel.  But before we arrive at the midseason break in three weeks, D-Wade and the Heat still have twelve games over the next twenty days.

February is upon us, but the sneaker heat in the NBA doesn’t stop. Ray Allen of the Boston Celtics wore the Air Jordan XIII ‘Ray Allen’ , Blake Griffin continued his dunking ways, and Al Harrington flashed his Nike LeBron 9 iD for all to see. Chris Paul wore a PE colorway of the Jordan CP3.V , previewed earlier during the Sneaker News trip back home.

While the rest of Nike Basketball’s Hyper- offerings have taken over the market, even to the extent that the new Hyperenforcer is now available on NIKEiD, the above pictured model has been almost forgotten.  The  Nike Lunar Hypergamer  appeared to offer a LunarLon-cushioned alternative to the Zoom Hyperfuse series, but we’ve not seen it since the Tony Parker PE that popped up back when the NBA season typically kicks off.  Particularly good news, then, to see two new Lunar Hypergamers pop up out of nowhere, both navy/white and bred palettes manifesting on the same blocking pattern

Using the ‘Big Bang’ theme for the 2012 NBA All-Star Game , Nike Sportswear went where no man has gone before and introduced the ‘Galaxy’ Foamposite , showcasing the colorization possibilities of the material that still stirs up lengthy conversation today.
