Back in November, Sneaker News broke the news on a number of upcoming Nike Zoom Kobe VII colorways that were set for a releases, and one of the most exciting colorways was this Black/Volt/Grey colorway that was originally slated for a February 2012 release . Of course, February came and went and with the Kobe VII now in the Elite/Postseason stage, it’s likely that these won’t release…or will they? The Zoom Kobe line has had a tendency of spilling over into the Summer/Fall months and into the following NBA season, so there’s a shot that these were saved for a later date

As we get closer to the 2012 Olympics, the special releases put forth by Nike and Jordan Brand are beginning to leak out, and the small tastes we’ve been getting are only expanding our appetites! We got another clear look at the Air Jordan Gold Medal Pack while NSW’s Air Force 1 and Dunk releases placed the USA/Barcelona connection in ’92 in the spotlight with the special tongue labels and colorways. In LeBron news, we got a first look at the Vivid Orange/Cherry colorway dubbed the ‘Bubblicious’ – a reference to LeBron’s ‘Lightning Lemonade’ flavor. A new military-inspired colorway of the KD IV raised a few eyebrows, while the Cheetah-inspired Kobe VII gave us goosebumps with the fierce design

This weekend has quietly turned out to be one of those massive ones for all things Beaverton between the Air Jordan XII ‘Playoffs’, the Nike Air Force 1 Low VT ‘Camo’, and the second batch of Nike Fly Knit goodies arriving as well. To top it all off some sneaks originally scheduled for next weekend miraculously got bumped up at at least one online retailer, with the ‘Away’ versions of both the Nike LeBron 9 Elite and the Nike Zoom Kobe VII Elite up for grabs now at Jimmy Jazz .

Kobe Bryant’s been wearing these Poison Dart Frogs on and off since mid-late March , and a lot of spectators, even during live commentary, had curious statements about Kobe’s shoes. They do look funky and the Poison Dart Frog reference probably wouldn’t register instantly (or at all), but if you’re a sneakerhead, chances are you’re more of an expert on the amphibian than you were a year ago
