February is upon us, and that means the Black History Month Collection by Nike is unveiled. In it is the Nike Basketball signature trio, the Nike Sportswear trio (Air Max 1, Blazer, Air Force 1), and the Huarache Free 2012.

Today marks the start of Black History Month 2012 , and following yesterday’s first look at the Zoom Kobe VII, let’s take a gander at the Nike LeBron 9 in its ‘BHM’ colorway. We knew from the relatively blurry catalog images that surfaced about two weeks ago that all three of Nike Basketball’s big three signature models would come in tonal grey with a red-dominant pattern on the trim.

“The only way to answer your question…is with more questions.” During the first two lectures discussing the beginning levels of the Kobe System, self-improvement guru Kobe Bryant provided some profound insight for Aziz Ansari and Serena Williams , helping them achieve success beyond success. The Kobe System consists of seven distinguished levels of life-improvement, with the first level starting at ‘Success’. Most of us have a long way to go to even reach the Level 1 status , but one way to quickly get on the System is to get the Nike Zoom Kobe VII on your feet. This Black/White/Grey colorway was previewed extensively before (as early as November), and many praised it for its no-frills colorway as it gave our readers a true detailed look at the overall construction of the shoe.

While Kevin Durant’s entry into the ‘Year of the Dragon’ collection opts for a watery look, Kobe’s pair picks up a particularly fiery palette more in tune with what you might expect for a dragon-themed sneaker. The burning red and yellow combo on the upper paired with the reptilian green that pours into the lining really nails the inspiration, of course the dragon emblem below the heel clip doesn’t hurt either.
