When the Nike Air Max 1 first debuted in 1987, it was released in two colorways – Sport Red and Sport Blue. Both featured a basic color-blocking that combined each individual primary colorway with a hint of grey and white mesh uppers – a simple template that would continue to hold relevance today. We haven’t seen too many ‘OG-inspired’ colorways of the Air Max 1 because the shoe itself is so versatile when it comes to colorization, but whenever we do get a taste of the original colorway, it’s always worth notice

Sneaker News recently brought you a look at a few upcoming Nike Air Max 1 releases like the interesting Premium-grade suede-and-leather and the tonal Cyber green ‘denim twill’ – both slated for Summer 2012 drops. There are more on the way for 2012, like these three new additions that are likely to hit stores this Summer as well. We’ll start off with a nice citrus-y mix of orange and pink grapefruit tones done up in a canvas material, followed by two suede-built releases that feature a unique texture on the upper quarter (likely to be in some sort of ‘pack’).

A new year means a new collection of Nike Sportswear colorways; for Air Max 1 fans, some great releases have already occured, like the Action Red/Obsidian and Euro Gorge Green joints , but if you’re looking for something for more subdued and understated, check out this Black/Sail colorway. It features a mix of suede synthetic and sport mesh for the classic appeal, but the tonal black says these are more lifestyle than sport

What makes Sneaker News Blogs: WDYWT so great is that Sneaker News readers love to get their hands on sneakers ahead of release dates! We always show some hot upcoming releases when they pop up a few weeks (or months) in advance, but this week is particularly special because we’ve got the LeBron 8 ‘Big Bang’, Zoom KD IV ‘China’, Air Jordan 2012 ‘UNC’, and Air Foamposite One ‘Electrolime’ part of the Top 20 line-up. But just as we go into the future, we also take a trip to the past, because on sneakerhead in South Korea (by way of Vancouver) spiced things up with an OG pair of the Nike Air Max 1.

The Nike Air Max 1 turns 25 this year, and there are four different colorways on tap for the spring season that Nike Sportswear has constructed using the same formula .  Each pair uses the exact same range of materials, namely the suede and mesh combination that works so well on these old school runners from the mid ’90s and before.  They all have white midsoles and underlays, and in between you’ll find one color accented by another on the Swoosh and mudguard

The Air Max 1 would be a first-ballot unanimous choice for a sneaker ‘Hall of Fame’, as it is recognized as the fire-starter for the most historic running legacy ever created as well as one of the most ‘collectible’ sneakers known to man. A look at this 2012 sample reveals some interesting plans for the Air Max 1, given by the lux materials used on the upper, like black suede, black leather, and a distressed brown leather on the tongue label.
