One meaning for the word ‘simulacra’ is an image without the substance or qualities of the original, so what happens when you take a non-original Air Jordan IV colorway, apply its key details to the body of an Air Force 1 Low and then chop that up to make something that looks like, but has none of the most practical benefits of a gas mask ?  The simplest answer is that this is the newest example of the now daily growing body of sneaker art, the latest in a series of similar looks from artist Freehand Profit , who’s looking to convey the need for attention not only to fly kicks, but the state of the world around us.  Check out more angles after the jump and let us know how the sneaker gas masks rank against other sculptures and art pieces we’ve spotlighted here on Sneaker News
