One meaning for the word ‘simulacra’ is an image without the substance or qualities of the original, so what happens when you take a non-original Air Jordan IV colorway, apply its key details to the body of an Air Force 1 Low and then chop that up to make something that looks like, but has none of the most practical benefits of a gas mask ? The simplest answer is that this is the newest example of the now daily growing body of sneaker art, the latest in a series of similar looks from artist Freehand Profit , who’s looking to convey the need for attention not only to fly kicks, but the state of the world around us.
