Updates regarding the Air Yeezy 2 release always seem to report a change, but just yesterday, Sneaker News provided you with a simple reminder that Air Yeezy 2 launch is still on schedule for June 9th in Australia. Production numbers are very limited (the entire continent of Australia is getting just 60 pairs total) so you can guess just how crazy the release will be (Nike’s nixing of camp-outs and midnight releases should definitely soothe the tension). While we’ve yet to see detailed images of the Black/Solar Red colorway straight from Nike, these continue to be spotted on the feet of some of Kanye’s and Nike’s VVIP (the extra V is intended); here we get a close-up On-Feet look at the Black/Solar Red joints from Jerry Lorenzo and you can clearly see the amount of detail that was packed into this sensitive project.

Tinker Hatfield designed the Air Safari to have that lifestyle duality, and the upcoming VNTG Pack proves that 25 years later, that notion still stays strong. Here’s a complete look at four upcoming colorways of the Nike Air Safari VNTG ; introducing a tasteful palette of colors like Work Blue and Thunder Blue while impeccably combining tones like Bamboo and Team Red, the NSW team behind the Safari and this Pack in particular deserves some credit for reinvigorating the sneaker while keeping the ’87 heritage at heart.

Michael Jordan’s career is defined by a series of historic moments in succession, and although Jordan Brand acknowledged the first of such events as his first Championship in 1991, these ‘Moments’ began far earlier than his Chicago Bulls tenure (dropping 63 against the Celtics, hitting the game-winner in 1982 to win a National Title, shall we go on?). This August, Jordan Brand will recognize a ‘Golden Moment’ in Jordan’s history – his Olympic Gold Medal in 1992 ; the upcoming set dubbed the Air Jordan ‘Golden Moments’ Pack aka the ‘Gold Medal’ Pack features two distinct colorways of the Air Jordan VI and VII anchored by a lustrous Metallic Gold that details.

The ‘Summit Lake Hornets’ series on the Nike LeBron 9 is one of those motifs that just has to be a leftover from Nike Basketball’s plan B in the event of the horrible ‘What If’ scenario of the NBA season being totally evaporated, with the Swoosh storytellers switching the focus to aim on LeBron’s past with his present being stalled. Fortunately that wasn’t the case, and luckily we still get those releases, this Nike LeBron 9 Low being the latest of them

NIKE AIR MAX 1 WEEK Continuing on from yesterday’s profile of 2002′s Atmos x Nike Air Max 1 ‘Safari’ is another collaboration banger of the 2000′s – the Nike Air Max 1 ‘Amsterdam’ designed by Dutch artist Parra. For those who are newer to the game, Parra’s name might ring a bell thanks to 2010′s three-way partnership of Parra, Patta, and Nike with the famed ‘ Parra x Patta x Air Max 1 ‘, but Parra’s first project with the shoe was this 2005 Tier Zero (back when TZ meant something) release from the Capitol Series, which is considered to be one of the most-coveted Air Max 1s of all-time. The ‘Cool Grey’ spin seems to work wonders on Air Jordan Retros, doesn’t it? After debuting over a decade ago with the Air Jordan XI, the following Air Jordan IX, IV, and III installment were instant hits and were all part of the 32-seed pool of the Sneaker News Non-OG Air Jordan Tournament. But is that the case for this Saturday’s release of the Air Jordan XII ?

The Knicks’ season is done and Linsanity failed to make a reappearance (for what it’s worth, it’s would’ve been wiser for Lin to keep that knee healthy than making a feeble attempt at postponing the Knicks’ inevitable fall to the Heat), but Nike’s keeping the excitement alive with a second release of the Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 Low ‘Linsanity’ PE . Featuring a Black/Orange colorway and the bold-faced LINSANITY detailing on the insole, this second release should Lin in the conversation for sure as he enters into restricted free agency as a hot commodity (his upside as a player and marketing figure is very high).

Of the lengthy sneaker-design process, the Wear-Test stage is a make-or-break affair ; it doesn’t matter if the shoe looks amazing – if it doesn’t perform to the standards of the athlete, it’s back to the drawing board for the design crew. Of course, a lot of elements from a sneaker’s predecessor is carried on, but when looking at the progress of Kobe V to VI, the most notable change is the enlarged heel-cup – perhaps Kobe needed a bit more stability in that area for when he makes his daring cuts sand drives to the hoop
