The first Nike Blazer was a pioneering shoe. Released in 1973, it took its name from the Portland Trail Blazers; as Nike’s first hoop shoe, it proved worthy of its name. A welcomed departure from its more clunky counterparts of the time, the Nike Blazer offered several features designed to improve performance basketball footwear for the game: fine grain leather, outsoles that offered greater traction, extra support, less weight. It wasn’t long before the simple white hi-tops with the elongated swoosh became de rigueur on and off the court, leading the way for Nike’s dominance as a basketball/lifestyle brand.

Nike Blazer Mid GS Rubiks Cube is the newest brand

Earlier today the Nike Blazer Mid GS Rubiks Cube was mentioned during a conversation and it sort of sparked a little debate on whether or not the sneakers were ever actually released. According to what we reported at the time the Blazers, which were produced just for kids, was expected to hit retailers shortly after our post. However, a few of the people i was having lunch, the ones who sparked this conversation, the Nike Rubiks Cube Blazer was never released. Seeing as how we like to bust each others balls whenever we are able to prove one another wrong about something we not only wanted to personally rub it their face, but we also wanted to post it up here and let all our younger readers know,

Seen on  the Nike Blazer Mid  GS Rubik’s Cube. Inspired by one of the most popular puzzle games ever. The Nike Blazers Shoes have a Rubik’s Cube pattern that wraps around the whole upper and sports the classic Rubik’s Cube colors: blue, yellow, red, green and white. Being that this is a GS release, the concept and pattern is great for kids. The toe, swoosh and tongue are comprised of black suede, as well as a solid black midsole and outsole.
