What’s next for the Zoom Kobe VII? Nike iD has done a phenomenal job with stretching out the design options for the sneaker as it now introduces the ‘Two Tone’ option for the upper. In addition to the solid , Fade , and Poison Dart Frog option , the Two Tone allows for a distinct base layer with black on the outermost layer.

Most sneakerheads know that Kobe Bryant was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets in 1996 after foregoing a scholarship to Duke University thanks to annual ‘What if?’ colorways. Here’s another we can add to that list, going even more hypothetical to imagine what might have happened had Kobe been born just a couple years earlier.

Back in November, Sneaker News broke the news on a number of upcoming Nike Zoom Kobe VII colorways that were set for a releases, and one of the most exciting colorways was this Black/Volt/Grey colorway that was originally slated for a February 2012 release . Of course, February came and went and with the Kobe VII now in the Elite/Postseason stage, it’s likely that these won’t release…or will they? The Zoom Kobe line has had a tendency of spilling over into the Summer/Fall months and into the following NBA season, so there’s a shot that these were saved for a later date

Somebody over at the Beaverton campus sure has been feeling froggy lately, rendering the whole ‘Poison Dart Frog’ theme on the Nike Zoom Kobe VII as much more than a one colorway deal. First it was the Easter version , then it was the arrival of the options on NIKE iD , and now next in line is this Lakers colorway of the amphibious sneaker
