The Kobe VI has been praised as one of the most comfortable (if not the single most comfortable) shoe on the market last year, finding its way on the feet of college and NBA players worldwide. Even Georgetown University, a Jordan Brand outfitted school, ‘bent’ the rules by allowing this PE to come to light! The entire squad is laced up in Jumpman gear , but the Kobe VI is such a comfortable high-performance shoe that the equipment directors decided to ‘turn the other way’. Of course, on-court performance is the highest priority, so if a player deems the Kobe VI as the shoe to bring out his best, there’s no reason to not let that go down.

Kobe Bryant was ‘supposed’ to match Michael Jordan’s six championship rings and two three-peats last season, but instead, the Black Mamba is back in the hunt for that elusive one for the other thumb against an array of hungry young talent unmatched during his time in the league.  Kobe will need all the help he can get without Lamar Odom or Dwight Howard, so having an ally in something as ferocious as a great white shark certainly wouldn’t hurt to have at your disposal.

Kobe Bryant has at times been accused of being a lone wolf, an assassin-type whose main concern is his own dominance, and who will let once-in-a-lifetime partnerships fall to the wayside at the expense of ego games.  But Kobe proved to be a consummate leader in guiding the Los Angeles Lakers to two championships in the late ’00s, and has established himself as the greatest Laker of all time, even in the eyes of ‘The Big AARP’ to whom we alluded.

The Nike Zoom Kobe VII ‘Invisibility Cloak’ has begun to reveal itself to us today, as we now have an official U.S. release date for this high-energy release. In two Saturdays, February 18th, the Nike Zoom Kobe VII in Black, Court Purple, and Turquoise Blue will officially hit select Nike Basketball retailers at $140, making these a non-Supreme release (of course, the insoles are interchangeable if you have a pair of Supremes handy).

One of the major themes we’ve seen applied to the  Nike Zoom Kobe VII  is its ‘Predator Pack’, a set of kicks inspired by nature’s most efficient killers. We’ve seen a Christmas Cheetah, a Great White Shark and a Poison Dart Frog (not to mention the Dragon-ized Chinese New Year edition), so what about a chameleon — in this case, a chameleon car minus its green tones. The Nike Zoom Kobe VII ‘Black History Month’ is one of those sneakers that just gets better the closer you look at it.
