One of the trending topics in 2012 is the re-release of the Nike Zoom Huarache 2k4 , an era-defining sneaker considered by many to be one of Nike’s greatest on-court creations of all-time. It directed the Nike Basketball line into the direction of sleeker, sexier lines that we see manifested in current editions like the Nike Hyperdunk series and other Zoom Hyper products, so while the Huarache 2k4 never did release again since its coming-out yet in 2004, the spirit of the shoe continued to live on. Of course, news of the Retro was definitely exciting news , but it also brings to light some sick PEs from the past that you may have forgotten about, like this Penny Hardaway PE that he wore during his brief stint as a New Yorker

“….him [Avar] and his team put it all in the pot in the Nike Kitchen, mix it up, and voila – out pops these.” Kobe Bryant’s relationship with Eric Avar could possibly rival the greatest athlete-designer tandems in history – Michael Jordan and Tinker Hatfield. Now seven signature shoes deep (eight, if you count the Nike Hyperdunk, or nine, if you count the Nike Zoom Huarache 2k4), the Nike Zoom Kobe legacy has reached a point where its evolved into new conventions of basketball footwear performance – the interchangeable Attack Fast and Attack Strong cushioning systems.

“I think this shoe helps me because it’s lightweight and doesn’t restrict you at all.” He can’t workout with the other Clippers and signing for a pittance to play overseas would be a flat-out dumb move for a guy with so much potential for a long, illustrious career in the NBA, so the lockout seems to have Blake Griffin playing around with NIKEiD quite a bit this summer. We just showed you the Griffin’s Trainer 1.3 Mid iD he mocked up with a LA-home look and now it’s the Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 he helped to usher in that gets the ‘Blake Show’ treatment

Although we’ve already made the transition to the Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011, last year’s Hyperdunk flagship still made noise in 2011 thanks to a look at the unreleased ‘McFly’ colorway . The original Nike Hyperdunk was in fact inspired by the fictional Nike Mag that was featured in the classic Back To The Future film franchise, and so the ‘McFly’ version of the Hyperdunk was born and became one of the most coveted sneakers in recent years

The Nike Hyperdunk debuted in summer 2008 as the first basketball shoe to utilize Flywire and Lunar foam, and we’ve seen both applied to almost everything imaginable in the intervening three years.  Lunarlite shifted to LunarLon and that lightweight cushioning has been popping up in everything from running to skateboarding sneakers this year and now we have the first Nike Basketball release with a full-length LunarLon sole.  No Flywire here, but take a gander at the Nike Lunar Hypergamer , a combination of Hyperfuse and LunarLon that’s gotta be among the lightest basketball shoes on the market.  Click through to see more of this black and Treasure Blue colorway, let us know what you think of the new Lunar Hypergamer and stick with Sneaker News for the US release dates.  via sevens Nike Lunar Hypergamer Black/Treasure Blue 469756-002 Read the rest of Nike Lunar Hypergamer – Black – Treasure Blue © Sneaker News , 2011. | Permalink | No comment | Add to del.icio.us
