In examining a recent WMNS Air Max 90 release from Nike Sportswear, we noted that they were the first such model for ladies since a grey woolen pair from the NSW VacTech collection touched down just before the turn of the year.  And though we’ve seen a couple other pairs since then with molded Swooshes, those marked the end of the VT capsule, or so we thought.  Some six weeks later, here comes a new Nike Blazer Mid VT in black wool that manage to reprise an even older Blazer Mid design motif by adding ticked laces like a few pairs from last summer

Diamond Supply Co. has been slowly but surely building their footwear catalog since the initial teaser images were previewed in late 2010, and their latest drop includes a new design that most sneakerheads will find familiar thanks to its fairly obvious influences.

“One man’s junk is another man’s…” Gabriel Dishaw, the self-proclaimed ‘junk artist’, is known in Sneaker News circles for his sick Nike sculptures made of old computer and machine parts. If you were impressed by his Nike Blazer Pentium 1.0 , his Air Max 2011 , or his entire ‘No So New Shoes’ exhibit , check out the Nike Free Run 2, which he calls the Nike Free Time Y2K; focusing on the theme of ‘time’, Dishaw used old watch bands for structure while adding machine keys on the signature Free outsole and other computer parts to make up this size 9.5, 15 lb

Being that both models carry roughly the same silhouette, there’s naturally some confusion between the Nike Blazer Mid and High.

The latest round of  Nike Blazer Mid ABs  was previewed in early December  sporting brass zippers , but Monday’s look at the Cargo Khaki release revealed it had been switched over to a tonal tooth-and-key setup.  These kinds of shifts tend to carry over to packs both informal and fully named, so we expected something similar from the black edition and any others to follow in their footsteps, but this new Hazelnut drop proves that not only is brass still very much an option, but it can look quite impressive, especially next to dark brown tape and a matching leather sockliner

Overshadowed in recent months by boot variations on the Air Force 1 and Dunk, Nike Sportswear’s third standby classic basketball model has come through with a rugged look of its own for the cold weather season. The Nike Blazer Mid ACG ‘Outdoor Pack’ brings together an orange-accented black leather pair with the above pictured Hazelnut suede model whose Sport Red laces and heel stripe might remind you of the Air Magma’s OG colorway . It’s a similar proposition here, dealing with a suede upper that was designed for rough conditions: should you keep them pristine or go ahead and embrace the fact that they’re going to take some scuffs, knowing that it’ll build character

Most sneakerheads, given three wishes, would almost certainly pick at least one of their holy grails, and since you’re not allowed to ask for more wishes, here’s another way of taking that theme meta.  Sneaker customizer and Blazer loyalist JBF is back with his latest take on the most classic of Nike Basketball silhouettes, this new  Nike Blazer High  ’Jafar’ custom inspired by the villain from Disney’s 1992 animated feature  Aladdin .

The Nike Blazer Mid has been all over the place in terms of construction over the past few months, Nike Sportswear having crafted this six decade veteran in AB, VT and ACG variants all more recently than the most basic model. But this new release proves there’s still plenty of mileage left on this 1973-born classic, a bold Melon Crush suede model whose white and beige accents might remind you of the Size? collaboration from a couple years back

2011 was the year that the medial-zippered  Nike Blazer Mid AB  made its debut, so fitting to see one of the new drops for the spring ’12 season releasing a bit early to make it in as one of this year’s final releases. This new Blazer Mid AB comes to us in a  rough Cargo Khaki suede  whose earhtiness is enhanced by tonal laces and similarly-colored zipper that differs from the brass style showed off in earlier previews. There’s also a black pair on the way with a similar setup, but it’s the olive edition you’ll see in a new series of images after the jump because that’s the one that’s available right now at  Nike Harajuku .

In our recent look at the ‘Gorge Green’ Nike Blazer High VNTG release, we noted that the unfinished nylon tongue is now a tonal match to the suede uppers for the first time in the series’ three years. Regular Sneaker News readers will know that’s not the only bit of fresh news regarding nylon on the Vintage Blazer, as this new Electrolime edition makes three after our preview of red and blue pairs back at the start of the month.
