The last time we got a look at this Charles Barkely homage from Nike Sportswear, it earned a comparison to the Air Jordan Legacy with that series’ famed Stealth and Cool Grey shades combined. Will these Nike Air Max Barkleys now attract the same kind of attention as this summer’s ‘Olympic’ Air Jordan VI Retro? Probably not, but the same kind of altered sole coloring is evident when comparing this pair to the ones that popped up in late April

This Fall 2012 Season, Jordan Brand aims to bring back the Air Jordan VI ‘Olympic’ in tandem with a slew of other Olympic-inspired Air Jordan Retro models , but there’s no question that this reprisal of Ray Allen’s 2000 Olympic joints is the most coveted of them all. Although these aren’t true to the original, as the forefoot of the midsole has been ‘reversed’ in the placement of White and Midnight Navy, leading us to wonder if Jordan Brand made that move as a conscious decision to differentiate it from the original. If you hadn’t noticed, the Air Jordan XII ‘Playoffs’ was slightly different from the original as well (the color of the font on the heel stripe), but this particular aberration is far more noticeable

The best part about these Air Jordan Player Exclusives? Sometimes they arrive in pairs . A few moons ago we showed you Joe Johnson’s Air Jordan VIII Player Exclusive done up in the Hawks ‘Home’ uniforms, so it’s time we showed you what would’ve worn outside of the Philips Arena; it features a ‘Playoff’ like outfit of tonal black, with the Navy Blue and Red being used to color-up the graffiti-like mudguard as well as on the midsole and other accents around the shoe

Sandwiched in-between two original colorways of the Air Jordan XII is this crisp and clean ‘Cool Grey’ variety of the Air Jordan XII . Taking a page out of the unbreakable Cool Grey lineage and throwing in a hint of orange (2008′s Air Jordan VIII ‘Orange Blaze’, anyone?) this upcoming mid-late May 2012 release finishes off a solid schedule of Air Jordan Retros for the month of May (preceded by the XI Low and Cavs IV)

Count it – four Air Jordan Retros arriving this Fall, all of which pays some sort of tribute to the Olympic Games and Michael’s triumphs at the event. Here we have a first detailed look at the Air Jordan VII of the ‘Gold Medal Pack’, which is currently slated for a release this August 18th ; the entire Pack will retail for $350 (and you can’t purchase them separately), and will feature both the Air Jordan VI and VII anchored by Metallic Gold detailing. The VII features an ‘Away’ motif of Black with the DMP stylings of Gold on the midsole, heel-tab, tongue, and Jumpman on the upper ankle, and once released, the Air Jordan Gold Medal Pack should stand as one of the best releases of the year – but is it poised to be one of the greatest of all-time?

Joe Johnson had a bit of a rough go during last night’s game against the Boston Celtics, but unlike some of his opponents, he kept his cool and his team now owns a 1-0 lead in their First Round Playoff Series. His sneaker selections this season has been a consistent cycle of random sneakers, like the Jumpan Pro, a Six Rings PE, and even the Jordan Prime 5, but how sick would it be if he whipped out these Air Jordan VIII Player Exclusives

Club Purple is making its mark on the 2012 Jordan Brand lineup in subtle ways, first helping to establish the surprise hit Son of Mars and later returning on the Air Jordan VII model whose red hits alongside have earned them a ‘Raptors’ nickname.  This third drop comes right in the middle, a brand new  Air Jordan 1 Phat  that’s arguably a better fit for the Toronto-inspired taxonomy and one that’s quite a bit more gender neutral than its colorway would seem on paper.  Details like  Elephant print on the side panel Swooshes  and the new multilayered mesh we’ve seen on several recent AJ1s connect these to the Air Jordan Legacy, and you’ll find them available now at select JB retailers like New York’s  Extra Butter .

As we get closer and closer to the 2012 Summer Games in London Jordan Brand’s Olympic plans become more and more apparent. Along with the four retro models already known there are apparently some more in the stash, namely this trio of Air Jordan 1 High’s that all seemed to be united under the theme. The middle is the most outright in with the connection, donning the same gold and white blocking as the Air Jordan VI from the upcoming ‘Gold Medal’ pack

Just because you won’t be attending school this summer doesn’t mean you’ll have a break from getting up early and filing into a huge public building filled with your peers.  To the contrary, you might end up filling the dog days with a job so you can keep up with the other Jordanheads lining up to cop heat this Olympic summer.
