Our readers from the Pacific Northwest should be well familiar with the University of Oregon/University of Washington rivalry. In the footwear world the battle hasn’t historically been very close thanks to Oregon’s deep reaching Nike connects , but TCMan5190 on NT is looking to reverse that trend a bit with this pair of customs.

The Air Jordan ‘History Of Flight’ Collection was a depiction, by way of footwear, of Michael Jordan’s illustrious career and trail-blazing iconism of the shoe game. Placed on display at select Niketown locations around the glove, the Air Jordan ‘History Of Flight’ capitalized on the trademark White/Red colorway made famous by Michael by re-creating every Air Jordan in that colorway

Michael Jordan always obeyed his thirst with Gatorade, but sneaker customizer El Cappy gave these Air Jordan VIs a nice contemporary upgrade by introducing the ‘Sprite’ colorway to his Air Jordan customs arsenal.

The great equalizer that is eBay has proven time and time again that even the most exclusive of sneakers will be up for grabs at some point or another. We recently showed off the Air Jordan IV from the History of Flight series that was up for grabs , with the surrounding excitement being dimmed a bit by the fact that a somewhat similar Air Jordan IV found its way to retail already in the form of the all-white ‘Silver Anniversary’ edition a few years back. Such is not the case with the Air Jordan VII ‘History of Flight’, as this particular model never made it into the Silver Anniversary collection, making the pure white uppers that much more sought after

Jordan Brand were all over the Year of the Rabbit, having started with the Air Jordan 2011 YOTR and its overseas launch on Chinese New Year, followed by similar colorways on the Air Jordan VII Retro, and ending up with the AJ2011′s Q Flight variation. That kind of duplication isn’t possible this year given the AJ flagship model’s configuration (more on that later today), so don’t expect a ‘YOTD’ Air Jordan 2012 Q Flight, because that’s actually a part of the Deluxe package

It’s been quite some time since we last a Knicks-inspired colorway of an Air Jordan (by our count, it was the Air Jordan VIII ‘Quentin Richardson’ PE , and we’re not counting the Air Jordan 1!).

Superbowl Weekend was, of course, dominated by NFL coverage, but don’t overlook the games that went down on Friday, Saturday, and before the big game! Seen on court were LeBron and D-Wade’s new PEs of their signature shoes, Brandon Bass’ Air Foamposite One ‘Royal’ , Ty Lawson’s Nike LeBron 9 ‘Cool Grey’ , and a plethora of Air Jordan XIs on Monta Ellis , Michael Beasley, and more. Other notables include Jordan Crawford’s Air Jordan VII ‘Cardinal’ , Chris Paul’s Jordan CP3.V PE, and a special shoutout to Jeremy Lin, who rocked the Garden in the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse Low

In describing the most recent adidas Originals ZX 8000 release, we noted that they looked more like the Air Jordan VIII ‘Aqua’ than their own OG colorway with that same nickname.  This latest release swings the pendulum back in the opposite direction, opting to vary from the original Eight Thousands by switching up the blocking pattern and trading blue for Super Green.

When we first caught wind of the Jordan Spiz’ike ‘Bordeaux’ back in June (yes, it was that long ago), the response was positive, particularly from Spiz’ike fans who were waiting for a fresh new OG-inspired colorway. But once we caught a live view of the shoe , the ‘Bordeaux’ moniker was put up for question as the shoe, while owning similar colors to the Air Jordan VII ‘Bordeaux’, didn’t exactly resemble the OG Air Jordan it was tied to. Later on, a pair of the ‘Bordeaux’ Spiz’ikes were given to President Barack Obama as a special gift from Spike Lee and Jordan Brand.

Whenever the four year rotation of the Summer Olympic Games rolls around, it’s pretty much a guarantee that you’ll see sneaker companies latching onto the theme for a gang of commemorative releases. And while we’re sure that the newer Jordan Brand models will see plenty of play during that time, it’s hard to anticipate any Olympic-involved sneaker eclipsing the excitement surround the upcoming Air Jordan VI ‘Olympic retro . We already confirmed the swirling rumors and info is starting to cement, with an apparent 7/7 release date
