Jordan Brand is well known for pulling out all the stops for the launch of a new flagship model, and this year’s Air Jordan 2012 media unveiling was certainly no exception. Sneaker News was fortunate to be part of a select group of media picked up this morning and driven to a mystery location for the event. The cars eventually pulled up to a hangar in New Jersey’s Teterboro Airport with a large metallic Jumpman logo on the side of the building leaving little doubt that we had arrived at our destination

It was another week of hot sneakers from Sneaker News Blogs: Best of WDYWT , and even with Superbowl XLVI keeping people at home in their living rooms or at local bars, the onslaught of on-feet fire didn’t miss a beat. A few readers got their hands on the Nike Basketball Black History Month 2012 Collection, while a pair of brothers rocked the Air Force 1 and Air Jordan III from last year’s BHM Collection. We also got a look at some great Retros, like the French Blue XII, Black Laser IV, and some nice low-top gems, and even an OG Air Jordan from ’93 made its way to this exclusive list.

Charles Barkley recently went on record as saying the level of play this year in the NBA is so poor that the league should consider contracting a few of its worst teams.

We just saw El Cappy’s take on applying the Air Jordan III ’s ‘Black Cement’ colorway to the AJVI’s silhouette, so what would happen if you did the same thing to a shoe that only had the Six’ tongue?  Sneaker customizer Sab-One turned his attention from the ever popular AJ6 to a model that uses its signature tongue in combination with a variety of other elements fromt the early Air Jordan Legacy to create the ‘Black Cement’ Jordan Spiz’ike .

We already showed you all the heat that the New York Giants rocked during the Superbowl XLVI Media Day (Chicago X, Concords, Playoff XIIIs, Spiz’ikes, LeBrons – you don’t want to miss it), but here’s a look at what the G-Men will rock on Game Day; of course, the standout is the Air Jordan III Black/Cement cleats, which will be worn by Defensive Lineman Dave Tollefson and Linval Joseph. Scattered among the rest are cleats from Nike (the Vapor Talon Elite Fuse sitting just to the right of the Black/Cement III), Reebok, and adidas, so check out all of the New York Giants’ Superbowl XLVI Cleats below and let us know who you think will win the big game this Sunday.

February is upon us, but the sneaker heat in the NBA doesn’t stop. Ray Allen of the Boston Celtics wore the Air Jordan XIII ‘Ray Allen’ , Blake Griffin continued his dunking ways, and Al Harrington flashed his Nike LeBron 9 iD for all to see. Chris Paul wore a PE colorway of the Jordan CP3.V , previewed earlier during the Sneaker News trip back home.

It’s always sad news when one of the greatest to ever play an professional sport hangs it up for good. Jason Taylor will be considered as one of the best to ever line-up on the edge, taking down QBs and stopping the run with ease throughout his career with the Dolphins, Redskins, and finally, and the Jets. During that season in New York, Jason sported these great Black/Green Air Jordan III PE Cleats , helping him achieve five sacks, two forced fumbles/recoveries, and twenty-five tackles in limited playing time

When Sneaker News brought you images of the upcoming  Nike Air Force 1 iD samples  yesterday, all of them depicted a tonal, almost monochromatic elephant print in a variety of colors with but one single photo depicting the classic dark-on-light grey as was pioneered on the  Air Jordan III OGs .  Here’s an expanded look at that tonal grey and gumsoled approach to the Air Force 1 Low on  NIKEiD , as well as a hightop version that goes with a translucent bottom instead.  These two are quite similar, yet different enough to demonstrate some of the blocking options available on both heights when the super-limited 750-pair run opens on February 1st at midnight eastern.

The Air Jordan 2012 was inspired partly by wing-tip shoes , a distinct style that has a huge presence in the sport of golf. Since we first showed the Air Jordan 2012 here on Sneaker News, many of our readers made the quick connection that the AJ2K12 did in fact look suitable for the green, and this recent sighting of Michael Jordan makes that connection is more than obvious. During a recent golf outing with former pro-golfer Hank Kuehne , MJ rocked these Air Jordan 2012 Golf Shoes to bring a level of unique style to the game, and here you see MJ lounging on a cart, cigar between his teeth, chillin’ without a care in the world
