In late October, Sneaker News showed you a rare piece of Air Jordan memorabilia – an Air Jordan 2010 autographed by Michael Jordan and the legendary footwear architect Tinker Hatfield . It’s extremely rare to see an Air Jordan signed by both icons of footwear history, but MJ and Tinker came together (with MJ donating the sneakers from his own collection) to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oregon . In fact, this particular pair is the only Air Jordan in existence with both signatures, and Tinker himself has provided a letter of authenticity to prove that what you’re bidding on is truly a piece of history (and all for a great cause!).

The Air Jordan legacy has taken a more colorful turn over the last few years, deviating from the basic Chicago Bulls -inspired colorways to more colorful varieties. Truth be told, no Air Jordan looks better than when it’s painted up in any combination of White, Black, and Red, and this daunting set-up of the Air Jordan 1 through Air Jordan 2010 in a re-done Home Bulls motif should be clear and present evidence of that.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oregon and Southwest Washington was presented a special gift by legendary designer Tinker Hatfield – a pristine pair of the Air Jordan 2010 autographed by himself and Michael Jordan from Michael’s own collection. This rare piece of Jordan Brand memorabilia is the only on in existence, but the Ronald McDonald House Charity House, with the help of a local sports radio broadcast, will auction off this masterpiece with all final supporting the RMHC mission

The Air Jordan XX and XX3 mashup that is the Jordan Icons played a significant role in the 2009-10 NBA season. A large number of Jordan Brand ballers were spotted wearing them during the regular season after Gerald Wallace debuted a navy blue patent leather edition in the Slam Dunk contest, guards Mike Bibby, Joe Johnson and Ray Allen wearing them throughout the playoffs.

Last year’s Jordan Brand Quai 54 Streetball Tournament was a star-studded and action-packed event as the tournament, which featured special musical guests Fat Joe and NBA superstars Chris Paul, ended with the Paris streetball team taking the crown. This year’s festivities is slated to be just as fun-filled, thanks to the hype generated by the upcoming Air Jordan V ‘Quai 54′ , which is set to release in limited numbers sometime soon. The White/Black/Radiant Green colorway appears to be the official banner colors for this year’s event, which leads us to wonder what other Jordan Brand footwear models will pop up because for the 2010 Quai 54, we saw a Jordan Team ISO as well as an Air Jordan 2010 surface in addition to the released Air Jordan IX .

When you first gaze upon the Air Jordan Phase 23 Hoops midtop, you see some familiar design elements.  These joints feature a streaky graphic on their rear a la Air Jordan VIII but the eyelet wing itself where you find this splash of color is closer to the AJ7.  Move forward to the side panels to see moire-style perforations like the Air Jordan 2010 Team and if you keep going you get the forefoot strap most recently seen on the Jordan BCT.  So how, then, does the Phase 23 Hoops have all these characteristics and yet totally avoid looking like a hybrid?  Chalk it up to design magic, and a trio of solid colorways certainly doesn’t hurt, each of these three set to drop soon at select Jordan Brand retailers as part of the May 2011 footwear collection.
